Kelowna City Park

This is one of Kelowna’s favorite public parks, with a sandy beach, waterfront promenade, recreational activities for children, and free summer concerts.

City Park is Kelowna’s green lung, nestled between the eastern shores of Okanagan Lake and Downtown Kelowna. Visit City Park to relax on the beach, swim in the calm lake water, or participate in watersports. Allow children to get active and have fun playing in water features at a well-equipped playground. During the summer, take advantage of free cultural activities and live music performances.

Hot Sands Beach is located along the lake’s edge. Relax on the soft golden sand, take a dip in the cool water, and take in the panoramic views of the Okanagan Valley’s verdant hills. During the summer, have a blast on the floating adventure park, which features inflatable slides and trampolines.

Take a walk along the park’s boardwalk, which is popular for dog walking, running, and skating. Seek out the sculpture of Ogopogo, a mythical sea serpent said to live in the lake. The esplanade extends north to Downtown Marina Kelowna, where you can rent boats, kayaks, Jet Skis, stand-up paddleboards, and wakeboards. Continue walking along the coast to Waterfront Park before returning through Downtown Kelowna for a meal or a drink.

More children’s entertainment can be found in the park’s center. Playing fields and a playground with slides and swings are available. Avoid the water that shoots from the splash park’s fountains and sprinklers. At the skateboard park, you can watch skaters perform tricks.

Plan your visit to coincide with the Parks Alive! concert series, which takes place in July and August. Listen to local musicians perform a variety of music genres. Bring your own lunch and have a picnic on the grassy lawn, or buy snacks from food trucks.

City Park in Kelowna British Columbia is a short walk from Downtown Kelowna and the Kelowna Cultural District. For a few hours, you can park for free inside the park.
